"The world was in the midst of the Great Depression in 1931 and the memories of World War I were still very much alive in the minds of Europeans when in Poland a sister of the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938), is said to have been personally visited by Jesus...St. Faustina, a poorly educated daughter of a humble Polish family, kept a 600-page diary of the apparitions she claimed continued for years. Her entries focus on God’s mercy..." Click on the above title link to read more of the "U.S. Catholic" article.
Thank you to all the workers (including the students) who gave a lot of their time to help prepare & to serve the Lenten Fish Dinners. No job was too small, & we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your commitment & dedication are what keeps this going, & without all of you, this doesn’t happen! It has been a difficult year for everyone, but you persevered, and it worked to a total of 2,530 dinners!! --- In addition: Thank you to everyone who purchased our “take out” fish dinners & the baked goods. We also received an anonymous donation of $239 that we are so thankful for. We truly appreciate your patronage, & pray to God we all can return to some normalcy before next year. And if not, we’ll march onward! *May Almighty God Bless You All.* -----Parish Bulletin, April 11, 2021

"Easter Sunday (Jn 20:1-9), That first Easter morning was confusing. Jesus was missing and Mary Magdalene, Peter and John 'did not know' what to do. In family life, there are confusing moments when 'we don’t know' what to do. Like the apostles, we are Easter people when we believe and trust in each other even when all seems lost." – Reprinted with permission: "A Family Perspective" by Bud Ozar from the Family Life Office at familylife@dioceseaj.org --Parish Bulletin, April 4, 2021
