Easter Bake Sale – At the Queen of Peace Parish Center (upper level) on Holy Thursday, Mar. 29, *after* the 7 p.m. Mass of our Lord’s Supper, & again on Good Friday, Mar. 30 from 9 a.m. – Noon. The Parish Center will be closed from Noon – 3 p.m., to allow everyone the opportunity to attend Good Friday Services. The bake sale will “re- open” after Church Services, & will continue during the last fish dinner of the season. There will be a *wide variety* of delicious baked goods. Sacred Relics of the Saints: Treasures of the Church--Queen of Peace Church in Patton presents a teaching & exposition of Sacred Relics on Sun., March 11, beginning at 3 p.m., in the Church. Fr. Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross will be here with his very special ministry to teach about these holy objects. He will bring with him over 150 relics, some as old as 2,000 yrs. Msgr. Becker & Father Kurdziel will be leading a pilgrimage to the Holy Land on May 16-26, 2018. This trip includes all round-trip travel costs from Altoona to Tel Aviv, spending three nights in Nazareth & five nights in Jerusalem, accompanied by an English speaking guide. Most meals are included. We will be celebrating Mass daily. Total cost for double occupancy is $3,850. The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown will celebrate the Rite of Election of Catechumens & the Call to Continuing Conversion of Candidates at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona, beginning at 7 p.m. These are men and women who are preparing to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at Easter from our parish and those in the surrounding area. The adults who are seeking Baptism will be formally named and welcomed as the Elect of God and the Candidates seeking full initiation will declare their intent and be blessed by Bishop Mark Bartchak. All parishioners are invited to join our Catechumens and Candidates and their sponsors and families in prayer and communal support. Everyone is invited to attend a light reception after in the Cathedral Hall.
