St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church [719 Chestnut Street. Northern Cambria, PA. 15714] will host their annual Fall Basket Auction on Sat., Oct. 3, from 5 – 7 p.m., & Sun., Oct. 4, from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Drawings begin at 3 p.m., Sunday in the Church Hall. All winners will be called to pick up your winnings between 4 – 6 p.m. Tickets are $5.00/26 tickets & will be available for purchase at the Hall. Takeout food will available for purchase. --- *CDC guidelines are a must: wear a mask, social distance of 6 feet, follow arrows on the floor.* --- The basket auction will help defray the repair and repointing of the Church tower at St. John the Baptist.
The Citizens concerned for Human Life will have a National Life Chain on Sun., Oct. 4, from 1:30 – 3 p.m. in Carrolltown. You can pick up signs in front of St. Benedict Church by the red light. A collection in response to the Benedictine Annual will be taken up at all Masses the weekend of October 3/4. Two concrete projects will begin here on Mon., Sept. 14th. These projects, postponed for nearly one year, involve a new ramp entering the Church, while replacing the crumbling sidewalks near the Sacristy entrance. Also, new steps into the hall will be poured. The Church project will take approx. 1 week to complete. *Please, heed all caution tapes, cones, & barriers.*
