~~~Special Notes Regarding the Mass Celebrated in the Extraordinary Form of the Mass Contributed by Joseph Janidlo~~~

~~ Silver Jubilee of Priesthood ~~
On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, a Solemn High Mass of Thanksgiving was offered at Queen of Peace Church in Patton, Pennsylvania. Celebrated by Fr. Ananias OSB, pastor of 16 years, the occasion marked the Silver Jubilee of his ordination to the Sacred Priesthood. Hundreds of parishioners, friends, family and clergy attended this Extraordinary occasion; many were struck by the majesty of the sacred mysteries unfolding in their midst. Palestrina’s Mass, Aeterna Christi Munera, was sung—the music featured in the video montage of photographs. The church and altars, recently restored, where adorned in silver bunting—resembling Rome’s Pantheon in recent months. Even the vestments were remarkable in origin and history—a gift from the Emperor of Mexico to the Shrine of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem (circa 1890s). ~

A gracious “thank you” is owed to many who made this solemn occasion possible. To the Monks of Saint Vincent Archabbey, especially Fr. Maurus (the assisting Deacon) and Br. Placid (supporting photographer), to Fr. James Power, of the Diocese of Erie, who assisted as the Subdeacon. To the Canons Regular of St. Thomas Aquinas, particularly Br. Michael, who assisted as the Master of Ceremonies. To Adam Blai, the lead photographer; to the members of the choir and schola, especially Devren Yener, the director and coordinator of Sacred Music; to Joseph Janidlo and to the many altar boys, the pious church ladies, and all those parishioners and friends who oversaw countless hidden details. Finally, to Fr. Kevin Lutz and Sean Kelly, of the Jubilee Museum in Columbus Ohio, who graciously lent the antique vestments for this solemn occasion.
