Of the many charisms, gifts of the Holy Spirit, associated with living-out of the monastic way of life, more than any other, is expected of those who vow themselves as sons of Benedict is that of Hospitality. With almost "sacramental" reverence, Saint Benedict treats of kindness to pilgrims, strangers, & all who present themselves as godly guests at the monastery's port. The Patriarch of Western Monasticism exhorts his disciples in the 7th chapter of the Holy Rule to "treat all guests as Christ."
We're glad that you have come "a knockin' at our door." We hope you'll always feel welcome here--that you will experience Peace in your visitations. Please don't be strangers & know that you are always most welcome.
Benedictions,
Father Ananias, O.S.B.
